The Asbury Park Museum’s Grand Opening Celebration of our first pop-up exhibit at the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel was a huge success. On July 1, 2021, more than 175 people attended the four-hour event which featured access to our exhibit, refreshments and an opportunity to sign up for Asbury Park Museum Charter Membership. Books on Asbury Park history by local authors were offered for sale.
The exhibit detailed the 150 year history of Asbury Park’s waterfront boardwalk, beaches and amusement rides. This was done by way of six retractable banners, a 20-minute slide show, display cases of artifacts and even two mannequins with vintage period bathing suits. This exhibit will run through November 2021 and is open to the public, free of charge.
